This on-camera acting class is designed specifically for actors of all levels of experience. We'll demystify the exciting world of on-camera auditioning, providing a supportive and practical environment for you to build skills and gain confidence in front of the lens. You'll learn essential techniques to make a strong first impression and understand what casting directors are looking for. What You Will Learn: Understanding the On-Camera Audition: Get a clear overview of how on-camera auditions work, from understanding casting notices to what happens in the room (or on Zoom!). Practical Scene Work: Work with real scenes and on camera each week. Camera Basics for Actors: Discover how to effectively use your eyes, body, and voice when acting for the camera. Learn essential concepts like eye lines, hitting your mark, and understanding the "frame." Script Analysis: Learn easy ways to quickly read and understand a script, identify who your character is, and what they want in a scene – even for short audition sides. Making Believable Choices: Explore how to make authentic and truthful choices that feel natural for the camera, without overacting. Cold Reading Confidence: Practice reading new material on the spot and learn strategies to quickly connect with the words and make them your own. Audition Etiquette: Understand the do's and don'ts of auditioning, both in person and online, to leave a professional impression. Who Should Take This Class: This class is perfect for complete beginners or actors with limited experience who are curious about on-camera acting. It's also ideal for actors with stage or improv experience who want to start working on camera, or the experienced actor who for some reason isn't getting callbacks or booking roles.
